Title: Director, Project Management, Macau
- Full-time position based in Macau
- Responsibility for the Macau Office
- Reporting to Head of Real Estate, Hong Kong & Macau
Position Overview
We are seeking for a forward thinking and ambitious Director who will lead our Macau office and develop our Project Management offer, providing solutions that help our clients deliver successful outcomes, build and maintain client relationships (both existing and new targets), achieve confidence around project delivery, build profile and influence in the industry, ensure projects are effectively managed and controlled, and facilitate the capture and transfer of knowledge.
Today, our Macau real estate business consists of 16 professional staff focusing on Private and Public sector clients. The current core discipline in Macau is Quantity Surveying, and to date we have delivered Project Management services from our Hong Kong office. We are seeking to establish a local Project Management team. The Macau office works alongside our Hong Kong office which consists of 180+ professional staff.
As Director in-charge of the Macau Office, you will have wide-spread exposure to the business environment and our clients. You will have authority to act in the name of Turner & Townsend and your actions will have a considerable impact on future business and direction.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record in managing people/teams, business development and client management in the consulting environment, and have an excellent understanding of industry best practice across the life cycle of projects. It is critical that the successful candidate is based in Macau. The leadership of people is key in this role as you will take high level responsibility for all employees working within your office. You will assist the Head of Real Estate, Hong Kong & Macau to deliver against the business plan and determine future business plans for the office.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing the Macau P&L and reporting to the Head of Real Estate, Hong Kong & Macau on business performance, progress against business plan, corporate governance, compliance, risks and issues.
Act as an ambassador for Turner & Townsend, actively seek out contacts, leads and opportunities and advise on how to best position and secure new work.
Develop and implement business development strategies, pursuing key project opportunities, new business targets, and clients.
Managing key client accounts and winning new business through organic growth and referral.
Developing solutions to clients that articulate our services, methodology and approach, experience, and differentiators.
Providing advice to clients on overcoming the key risks, issues, and challenges to successfully deliver projects in Macau.
Develop and implement project set-up and delivery strategies.
Providing oversight, assurance and problem solving on projects as required.
Support team leaders on project/client negotiations and contract execution/administration.
Act as a role model for our ‘One Business’ culture, supporting its staff, initiatives, and policies within the wider business.
Assume mentoring position for our team to maximize their potential in the business. Encourage the professional development and advancement of your team.
Identify and attract senior level talent in the local market to fill any management gaps or maximize our potential in the market.
Collaborate with the other business lines and teams (e.g. Marketing, HR, Finance, etc)
Support with improving Turner & Townsend’s brand recognition in the market, attending functions, events, presentations, and meetings representing the company
Having a voice in the market speaking at external events and publishing thought leadership.
Always acting with the highest integrity, caring for the safety and wellbeing of others.
Qualifications
BSc Project Management or BSc Construction Management (or similar)
Post-Graduate qualification preferable
Professional Registration preferable
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a senior role in the built environment
Experienced in Business Development and delivering successful projects in Asia.
Preferably experienced in multiple sectors
Proven ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage and lead effectively in a team environment
Be willing to travel for business purposes as required
